egl shopping in osaka?
Sep. 12th, 2003 01:05 pmI'm moving to Osaka from the US. Are there any good egl shops there? Is there any sort of visual kei scene or anything of egl interest? Any information appreciated, as I know next to nothing about Osaka.

Date: 2003-09-12 01:26 pm (UTC)Also in Shinsaibashi is some teeny little punk store that is PACKED with stuff (it's cheap because it's not one of the high classy brand names, and they have GREAT socks and stockings), and a nifty gothy store whose brand name I can't remember but a lot of KERA shops carry their stuff.. (The storeworkers were eyeing me shiftily for the longest time and finally asked me how I heard about the store, and I lied and said heard about it through the KERA store and they were all happy after that). There's another mini department store that has Heart E, Foetus, and some other fun goth/punk/loli store I forget the name of (it's a new brand)! The top floor has this per-gram market which is mostly used clothes but they have some fun stuff, and a print club machine. Shinsaibashi is also home to Osaka's greatest CD store, Pure Sound, who has an entire floor of used visual CDs and tour goods and so on, and they've recently started selling second-hand goth/loli/punk stores.
Osaka really is a great place, there are a ton of live houses around too. I recommend Nishikujo Brand New and Namba Rockets, but there are a lot more (a couple in Shinsaibashi too, but I haven't been to them). Also, Umeda is a very fun shopping place (they have the BIGGEST train station with like 6 malls in it and a ferris wheel), lol.. In Umeda they have a Ba-Tsu and San-nen-ni-kumi, which has cutesy punk and used to have loli stuff.
I hope you have fun there! If you ever need any help, I can try to assist you! I lived in the Osaka area for a summer, and visit often. Shinsaibashi is like a maze though.. I always get lost no matter how often I go, so don't expect to find it easily navigatable.

Date: 2003-09-12 03:46 pm (UTC)And if you get lost, just ask one of the Gothic Lolis walking down the street- they're REALLY nice and will definitely give you directions. That's how I found Alice Auaa. ^_^ There's also a Metamorphose Temps de Fille store somewhere in Osaka... I could try to type up the addresses for you if you want me to. (Not making any promises, though.)
Have fun in Osaka! If I end up in University there next year we'll have to hook up and go shopping. ^_^
