I finally finished my first real lolita outfit (the Alice In Wonderland one didn't count since it's cosplay). I made it in like 2 days. I wore it on the first day of school (last tuesday) but only just got it photographed. When I looked at myself in the mirror with it on for the first time I was just floored. I think it looks really btssb or Angelic Pretty.

I started with a long (down to the ankles) full skirt with a blue rose pattern on it that I got at goodwill. I shortened it to a little bit above my knees, added alot of lace and ribbons. I took the extra skirt material I had cut off of it and made it it into a headress and choker. I also made sock garters (which took forever, because I had to hand sew them), a really great tulle pettiecoat (with no pattern w00t!). I bought the armwarmers from a shop on South Stree Philly (I added blue ribbons to them), and the shirt I got from Kohls. I also wore a pair of really cute pettiepants.

there are 12 more pictures under the cut (we had taken 40 total, so I pared it down alot)

Awesome job, the skirt looks very good. I really like the way you did the lace ^^

I want those armwarmers, they're cool.

The skirt does look rather BtSSB

You look fantastic!! Well done!!

(perhaps I should experiment with COLOUR, she mused, I always end up looking quite puritanical...and in my city, home of the Pilgrim Fathers...not a good idea...)

I really do love what you've done, very very much the sort of EGL style I like XD that skirt was a great find, the fabric for it is so lovely.

Wow, you've really done a wonderful job on everything! I don't think I can recall seeing anyone turn a thrift store find around so much. It truly looks very BSSB. Tell me, did you use a pattern for anything?

*is jealous and wants her skirt... and choker.. and headdress* -__-;;

You did a great job! I've got a few thrift store finds tucked in the back of my "to-be-sewn" drawer but I could only hope they turn out as wonderfully as your ensemble. Where did you find such great beading/insertion lace?

Very pretty! It is one of the best "altered thrift-clothes" I've seen, if not the best! (thinking on the skirt)

Very well done. ^^

Great job on the skirt, headdress and choker! They look just like the real thing! Those arm-warmers are cool too... I've never seen a pair in any store, so you were lucky to get them! Great outfit on the whole!

Really good job.
I would never guessed that it was altered thriftshop find.
I wish I could get lucky at the thriftstore, here all the stuff is semimodern and that makes it hard to find eglable stuff...

Outstanding!
