Okay, I guess this could be an intro, but actually, I have a question!!

For the ones who buy their clothes online, how do you measure yourself? I've never, ever bought any type of clothing from online, not even shoes, because the sizes vary depending upon the brand, right? But anyway, where do you measure, and with what? If someone could help me, I would be so grateful XD;

Uhmmm I buy loadsa stuff from the net & so far haven't had too many probs with things fitting properly, I use a simple tape measure & measure my chest, waist, hips & inner thigh... Usually people selling stuff in online auctions will put these in they're descriptions, if not just ask! Its good to know what kinda of body type you have like whether your Small/Medium/Large or Extra Large. Uhmmm I hope this helps aleviate some of the confusion...

the basic measurements are chest, waist, and hips. Use a soft measuring tape, or if you don't have one, a length of string or ribbon, wrap it around you, mark it, and then lie it flat and use something to measure. the chest and hips are measured at the widest point, your actual waist is measured at the narrowest point. I know people rarely wear anything there, but for sizing purposes, that's it. Sizes do vary among brands, but most companies have a size chart. check for the style type for waist fit, low-rise styles are frequently improperly sized. the size of a garment is determined in part by the true waist, which people still think is the waist of the garment. So when you get a lower style pant, people think that the opening is still sitting at teh waist, instead more on the hip, so the sizing is screwey. To avoid this confusion, look at crotch length (measure the front piece of a pair of pants you own to get an idea of how far above/below the item you are considering will sit compared to that one). The larger the number, the higher it's going to sit, the more likely it's going to be sized at your true waist.
Shoes are a little more standard, and sellers usually will say wether it runs small, also check for widths in shoes if you can to help get the fit right.

it's soo true about the shoes especially when it comes to high heels XD ahhaha

i don't buy my clothes online like ebay because if it's been worn/used you don't really know what may have happened to it to the previous owner... ^^: me just being paranoid. lol i wish i could buy the ones on the jap sites but too $$ and the measurement there can be confusing. =(
