This probably a majorly stupid question and is probably a NO... but... would a kilt be kind of EGL? Depending on the color, that is... Cuz I just got one today and it's dark green with dark red stripes squaring it up. o.o

Er..thanks for any answers. o.o

I think it would be cute, but not EGL. ^^; Kilts and plaid (in any color) are more punk than lolita, and not gothic lolita at all. I'm sure you'll look adorable in it, there's just no reason to force the item into a category it's not suited for. (I don't know if this makes any sense... ^^;)

I don't know if you've seen any of the plaid designs from places like Putumayo or Metemorphose but yeah. Most definetly. There Is a trick to it. Mostly adding lace to the skirt itself and wearing with a frilly top and such. Pleated does start pushing it some but once again can be adapted. Is a MUCH more punk lolita then gothic. In fact I wouldn't even call it gothic at all. BUT that's not to say it can't be lolita. the genre is Much more then just gothic. *nods*

mini kilt madness

For all the Lolita-kilt lovers- If anyone has a Forver 21/ XXI in their local mall, they are selling the best kilts I ever saw in my life, and so cheap. The same skirt in every imaginable pattern and color combination. It's a mini with a double tier of very fine knife pleats, and one layer kind of curves up- really interesting, unique design. And they're from $17.00- $20.00. I bought 4 of them!! I bought khaki, red, black tiny check gingham and red gingham. My friend got the IDENTICAL skirt in Intermix for $100 a couple of months ago here in NYC, and we saw the same one in Forever 21 two nights ago- we went wild, grabbing handfuls of skirts. It was shopping heaven. I will post pictures if anyone is interested.

I think I might have seen those the other day, but I'm not sure. I saw a khaki and a light pink.

Ribbon and Lace

If you were to trim the bottom and the part where it overlaps with lace, and maybe where another bunchier skirt underneath, it could be.
