I am putting together a steampunk lolita outfit for an upcoming photo shoot. I am going to use myself and my family (husband and daughter) as models for my photography portfolio and I've decided on steampunk, for my daughter and I, lolita steampunk and for my husband, dandy. I have my husband and daughter's outfit all picked out and ready. It's my outfit I am having a little trouble with.

I want to use my lolita skirt for my outfit. But it's white. Do you think white would go good with a steampunk look? It is very frilly, more of a Rococo kind of skirt. Should I pair it with a corset for a more steampunk look? I tried on the outfit I had in mind and it came out looking more ero lolita. I really want some steampunk elements in my outfit without looking cheesy. No goggles or mad scientist glasses, something more elegant but still very steampunk.

This is a description of my outfit so far: Pale pink corset, white Rococo skirt that hits just above the knees, white kneehighs with a pale pink design of alice hearts, crowns, etc going up the side, beige heels. For accessories I have a beautiful birdcage necklace, another necklace with a the rockinghorsefly pendant on a black ribbon, a pale pink feather hairclip with a cameo and crystal in the middle, and white evening gloves. To me, it's very ero lolita/ rococo mostly because of the corset.

So my question is, what can I do to this outfit to make it more steampunk? Shall I get another color of corset, maybe one that is black and white striped? Like I said, I don't want the typical cosplay look with the aviator hat or goggles. I would really appreciate any suggestions you may have! :)
